Thanked: 7What scales for my 7 days of Friodur?
I just got my hands of 7 7/8 Friodur, 5 square points for weekdays and Spanish points for the weekend.
Now, to complete this set, I would like them rescaled, in 7 different scales, but with a common theme, but I have no idea, what materials I want, so I turn to you.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

seems youve got some nice wood scales going. id run with that idea. and make all the ends of the scales in different shapes with some colourful yet accentuating wedge spacers. and maybe get them all triple pinned.

Thanked: 1903I will soon be facing a similar problem. Dark (preferably black) horn in the original shape it will be for me. The blades are classic, and I think that for a set of these, the scales should have a timeless design.

Robin

I agree with the third pins on all 7. Probably would help whoever rescales it too, because those henckels tangs are hard to rescale from what I've heard!
Maybe micarta in different colors but similar shapes would tickle your fancy? could be cool. Or,...... . Horn all around. wooot.
Me likey the horn.

Multi color horn would be my preference. The striped looking stuff.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Holy crap! That will make for a really nice 7 day set.
I don't have any recommendations on the scales though. I think what others have said about horn, both stripey and classic black, are good ideas.

Pick an artist and them do what they do so well.
I was just telling Max, from now on I'm giving him full creative license on whatever I send him unless I have an extremely clear idea of what I want. Sometimes it's much better to be surprised?
As far as theme, maybe wood?

Thanked: 13247A recurring theme would be nice, like all the same wedge material or all the same center pin conchos...
These Filarmonicas were done that way
http://straightrazorpalace.com/custo...-cocobolo.html
I drove myself crazy on these trying to get them perfectly matched
http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...le-arrows.html
They are handmade products so no matter how close a pattern you try and follow, there will be tiny inconsistencies that creep in...That sets my OCD off but I guess some people can handle them not being perfect..
See horn would do that for me because they would never be matched unless they were just plain black horn, those differences in patterns in the horn would drive me loony tunes ...
The solid Acrylics, I like so much, or perhaps the Carbon Fibers or the G-10 like Max does, those would be much more pleasing to my brain... but then again I admit to being weird hehehehe
No matter the scales I bet they will be an awesome set.. Enjoy !!!
