Default The perfect vise and doming set at a great price

I wanted to post this thread in case there is anyone looking for a really great vise and doming set for pinning straight razors.

I went to Harbor Freight today and found this really neat vise. It's has a clamp on the base where it can be clamped to any table or counter top, (but can be permanently bolted down if you so choose) and the jaw portion rotates 360 degrees, both horizontally and vertically. It has an upper and lower jaw with one being cross hatched and the other smooth. The smooth jaw works really great for the pins because it doesn't scar them. It also has a little anvil spot on it that will work really great for finishing up the pinning process. The best part is, it was only $25.00.

The other thing they had was a doming set with a steel block that only cost $32.00. All the others I found on line were at least $75.00.

Well, that's it. I just wanted to share what I hope will be some helpfull info to anyone looking for the same items I've been looking for.

I have two of these and they are great. Much more stable than what they look. They pivot in almost any configuration. Very reasonably priced too.

I too use a panavise. Mine opens up to 10" and has rubber lined jaws. Quite handy for a variety of aspects
