Thanked: 5Some Ideas?
Hey all,
So I just picked up a really nice straight! Im excited! I just posted in a thread earlier today stating that my ideal blade was a notched 6/8s smiley, with a humped tang. I found one and snatched it up.
Problem is that I don't really like the scales, and I was looking for a project anyways, so I am going to rescale it.
I will include a picture of the razor and maybe you guys can help me with some ideas for scales.
I want something classy, but unusual. I liked the "Bloody Death" razor that an SRP member posted. Something like that would be cool, only I would use wood, not C.F.
Basically, I don't want the typical scale shape. I want something that is interesting, and original. I want it to say "I'm classy, but I'm really here to party"
A decent wood would be nice. Something reddish brown or maybe black. A wedge that is a contrasting colour would be cool. It the scales are red, maybe the wedge is black, or blue. I don't know.
Your turn! Shapes, colours, wedges, materials, pins- gimme ideas!

Thanked: 14^ Put a red dress on it
Nice find. Surf/search around to get some Ideas. Hard to help you out given the details. Red or brown wood is very broad. You should get a pied of paper, trace the original scales and draw different patterns that you might like.
Those are some of the biggest pivot pins I've ever seen.
Good luck!

Thanked: 30I vote for snakewood scales with a G-10 wedge. You can go with blue,it would give the feel of Spider Man(red/blue/black) that could be a cool theme.. or maybe a bright orange? That would make the wedge POP with color. It is your project, due what you like. And have fun doing it
