Wlamart for sure has 2k sandpaper, I also have seen them carry 1k @ the automotive section.
Your other choice is eBay I guess.

Can't run down a source at the moment, but if you end up having to order some online, try to find the line made by SIA. It's great stuff.

Check e-bay. I got 50 sheets of silicon carbide for less than $30 a while back. They have quite a few sellers who "specialize" in sp. Might have to ask a few of them what type of paper they acutally carry (alum vs silicon)but it's pretty convienent when somebody carries everything from 80-2500

You can order it online from Autozone.com they have every grit from 400-2000. And If you want to go higher than 2000 you can order micromesh from woodcrafts they carry the whole line in micromensh.

I've found sandpaper at all of my auto parts stores in auto body sections (bondo, etc.) and at Walmart in the automotive section AND house paint section in my small town of less than 5K population. FYI, some parts stores may keep their sandpaper in the back where they have the parts...

This is where I get my paper. Price is good compared to other local shops. Caswell Inc. - Wet and Dry Paper

Of course I picked mine up in person so no shipping.
