Default Where to get some greaseless compound?

Hi everyone! I've become fascinated with all this shaving and restoring, and wanted to try my hand at restoring a blade by buffing it with greaseless compound.

So, I'm looking for some! But, I don't think I need 1.5 pounds of each type just to try my hand at it. Does anyone know where I can get greaseless compound in smaller amounts, so that I don't waste money if I decide not to go through with it?

    Thanks so much!

Try your local gun smith. Maybe he'll sell you a chunk off his working bars. Online you can try Midway ans Caswell but I don't think they sell small amounts.

I think I've seen smaller quantities for sale on Ebay. IIRC they are pretty expensive for the amount you get.

Eastwood is where I get mine, except for the 600 grit. They don't carry that.

I actually got mine at a farm supply store.. I know I have no idea why they had it but they did so I bought it.

but I dont know what the rest think of this but if you are just wanting to know if this is for you .. what about going to autozone or similar place and buying automotive sand paper and rubbing and finishing compound.. total about 10 bucks

I think it would work well enough for you to figure out if this is your gig or not.

That's actually where I ended up getting it. But, depending on the razor, you don't need it and can skip from the 400 to emery.

I was about to check out and choked on the shipping. Must be showing up as hazardous or something, I can ship gunpowder cheaper...

Guess I'll check out eastwood...just wish they had finer grits.
