    Default Some wood scraps.

    Got these scrap bits from a friend. The top is a large bit of burl, I don't know what kind, some help please. Then purple heart, Ebony and a small bit of Pink ivory.

    well you know the Bural wood and purpleheart wood, the dark one looks like an Gabon Ebony and the last one looks like Tulip wood.

    DO you have a shot of the burl on a side with more exposed grain? Burlwood can be very hard to tell apart...

    That burl is gorgeous. To expose the grain a bit more, you can wipe a dampened (not wet) rag over it and then take a picture.
