    Default Care for G10 Micarta?

I have a razor with G10 scales I got about a year ago. Has not been used much but when I took it out a few days ago, I noticed that some parts of the scales were turning whitish (the scales are black). Should I be applying neatsfoot or something?

That stuff is pretty well impervious, and doesn't rot, but if all the oil is stripped out of it, it will occasionally show that whitish finish. It's probably the fiberglass fibers "showing through" the colored resin. A little oil or wax will probably correct the problem.

    RayG,

Ballistol seems to be recommended by people on the Spyderco forum for use on the G10 scales of their knives.

    Have fun !

    best regards

Thanks. I'll give it a try.
