Default How I clean my razors

After shaving I dry my razor well like everyone else but I also clean between the scales. I took a popcicle stick and put thin double sided tape on both sides. I then put a strip of cloth on each side and trimed it to fit. I run this between the scales to clean and dry them before closing the blade.

    Thanks for the smart tip!
I always use a q-tip to clean/dry between the scales before I put it away.
I'm definitely gonna try your to do it your way.

Great idea, but I have a question...how do your scales get wet anyway? Are you submersing your whole razor when rinsing the blade? I've heard quite a few mention wet scales and don't quite understand...

    Thanks in advance,

I'm thinking it's either wet hands or the splash factor while rinsing under the tap. I try to avoid both like the plague, but shtuff happens.

I hold the razor up to my face and the water runs down off the blade when I rinse. Not much. Just a drop or two, gets on my hand. It happens.

That's a great idea.. i have been using my girlfriends makeup removal cotton discs. They are flat round cotton discs with a raised pattern within the disc. They are great to use to polish or dry a razor. They fit perfectly between the inside of scales. And they are very durable

Gotcha, I rinse my blades in the sink bowl full of hot water & wipe the blade. Sorry, I'm just a bit slow sometimes...

Its very easy to get a bit of water in between the scales and it'll rust your blade up in a flash if you dont clean it out. Its an easy mistake for new guys to make, and always leads to a hurried purchase of MAAS..!

    Good tip!

I use a hair dryer for a minute or two. It heats up the blade just enough and also gets in the crevices.
