What are my options to preserve gold wash?
Hi guys,
I'm cleaning up this Boker King Cutter, and the gold wash is in pretty good shape so I'd like to see whether you guys have any recommendations for how I can clean the blade up without destroying the gold wash.
Here's the blade:
I have to clean up the blade since there's the tiniest bit of rust on that face, but also the other side has more rust and will need to be cleaned.
I've seen the wiki article with the eraser dremel attachment idea. Do you guys think that might do the trick?

The only way to preserve it is to mask it off somehow. Any abrasive will take it off rite quick.

Yeah I wouldn't say that I'm a goldwash fan, however I fixed up another king cutter I found and that process took it off completly leaving only the outer lines of the logo and I don't want that look for this one.
For some reason people in my area sure liked Boker King Cutters lol... That's all I can find around here.
