    Default Horn scales issue

I found a few nice razors at a couple different antique stores this week and have started the restore on them. One of the sets of scales look to be horn and cosmetically they look fine on the outside but when I took them apart to clean the pivot of the razor the inside has a large pit in it. Just wondering if this is common and can I reuse them or would there be an issue with the material that could damage the razor?

horn scales are usually eaten by bugs and what not.
I think you could fill the hole with epoxy and it will be fine.

+1. It can't hurt the razor and the epoxy should patch it up to the point where there's no significant loss of material integrity.
