I think its pretty obvious, but, I like horn.
Maybe I'm lucky or something, or more open to using blanks with some aesthetic problems, but, I've only thrown out 3 blanks due to problems/warping/delaminating/instability so far out of probably 60+. For a couple of those, I actually contacted my supplier and they replaced one. Of course, the fact that I order a LOT from them probably has something to do with it. I just plan things carefully using the blanks I have. I will occaisionally leave an imperfection in a scale as opposed to throwing it out. Horn is natural, and those things are to be expected IMO.
That said, While I love the translucents and blondes, my favorite has been leaning towards solid black for a while now.

I'm a wood fan. I really prefer the exotics, or something with killer figure... but I like them all.

I really like a nicely done faux tortise acrylic. I have several and they are all different. I love em.
Horn is another winner but not all horn is equal in my books. I like the ones with a grain that really pops and is not very see-through. Chocolatle Brown coloured horn is my favorite. Black is next.
But a nice warm coloured ivory is my all time favorite material.笑う門に福来たる。
