Lyman, QuickN EX or Harbor Freight Tumbler
Gentlemen,
Does anyone have any opinions on the Lyman 1200, the Quick N EZ or the Hearbor Freight 5 lb Tumbler?
I want to buy 2 so I don't have to change out the compounds and I can run simultaneously.
The Lyman is only a 2 lb bowl and $49.00. The Quick N EZ does not say, and is $40.00. The Harbor Freight is 5lbs and $54.00
Thanks for any help.

I purchased the Lyman Turbo 1200 Pro in January. I really like it. I bought it to replace the Harbor Freight 5lb (Chicago Electric) I had for a year and a half.
I ran the Chicago tumbler for four to six days at a time - eventually, the motor started seizing up, and the tumbler bowl seal around the top of the spindle finally disintergrated. It was fun while it lasted.
The Lyman is quieter (when there isn't a razor sticking through the top ), and seems to be better built. Although I haven't run it (yet) as much as I did the Chicago model, I have a feeling that the Lyman won't shake itself apart like the Chicago did.
Both seem to be pretty effective at polishing blades.
I don't think size of the bowl really matters, as I only tumbled one blade at a time, after the incident where I put a small chip in the edge of one of two blades I ran simultaneously.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I hate buying things twice. So I think I will get the Lymans.

I bought the 1200 and it's pretty good overall. I also only run 1 blade at a time do to chipping/nicks and the 2lb bowl is more than big enough. Even the smaller bowl that comes with it will fit a razor.

Thanked: 1936You will not be disappointed with the lyman, they make quality stuff and stand behind it as well if you were to have an issue. I run mine for days on end reloading and cleaning up razors & it keeps on like the energizer bunny...
