    Default Supplies when restoring scales.

ok guys I have to ask ...where is the best place to buy new pins when having removed scales and needing to repin them?
I ask this because I really have only seen classicshaving with pins and scales for sale, because once I have my new kit from vladsch i want to start on restoring a razor.
I welcome all replies and advice from you all.

Well, I just got couple of bags of brass nails, different widths. That way, you have the washer attached to one side...

Use 1/16th inch brass rod. Make your own washers. Look at

to buy some. Also look thru the threads in this forum for tutorials.

Cheapest 1/16", 3/32" and 1/8" brass rods you can get are at a welding supplier like Praxair. You may have to buy a few pounds of each. I got 4 lbs of 1/16" and got 60, 36" rods. They call them fluxless welding rods.

The washers can be made from 3/32" brass tube. It's in Bill's CD and also in the threads on this forum under razor restoration.
