    Default Wood polishes/finishes

I am making a set of Thuya wood scales and just finishing up the sanding. This particular piece of wood has great grain lines as well as burl. I do not want to use CA. I need a polish or wax that will darken the wood to a minimum. If the wood darkens, I lose the grain and that would be a shame. What have you used that you like the best??
    Thanks all!

If I were to try it on such a piece of wood like this with unknown (to me) oil contents/finish compatibility... I would start with a wash coat of super clear (mine is called platinum, but I mix my own) dewaxed shellac, then I'd go with a clear poly of some kind... wipe on poly works fine for me.

I have used spray Minwax Helmsman to great success. It's the toughest spray that I know of. For the thuya I'd use the semi-gloss versus the gloss, it just seems to bring out the natural look of the wood.
