    Default Razor opens too freely...

Can't seem to find anything in the search...

Just curious to see if anyone has any instructions for fixing a razor that opens too easily?

Am I going to need to replace the rivet by the tang, or is there something I can to to rig the existing setup so that the razor will not flop open so easily.

Never done this before, so I'm just curious...

    Thanks!

Tap the pin with a hammer in circular motion around the edges. Go carefully tapping gently and it'll eventually firm up in most cases. Some razors are just like that.

Even better, use a spoon, and tap on the pin. With the hammer it's easy to forget the pinning job is delicate thing. Check every 20 or so taps. I use spoon for complete repinning too...

Just to clarify this for you what is generally suggested is a 4 oz. hammer or a heavy spoon. That pin is made from brass(usually) and is relatively soft, that means it will bend easily which is what you don't want. What you are trying to do is mushroon over the ends of the pin. This is not a fast process so be very patient. 20 taps on one side then 20 taps on the other side. Do this 3 times then check the progress. Repeat until its tight.

    Hope this helps,
