stainless pins source anyone
Hi,
Does anyone know where I can obtain stainless steel pins/rod and washers (preferably in the uk)? Is it available as 1/16" diameter?
Thanks in advance

I don't know about any in the UK, but Alpha Knife Supply and Midwest Knifemaker's Supply carry what you need.

Thanked: 1936If you are looking for using stainless pins for pinning a razor...that's not what we use, it's nickel. Stainless is just too dang hard & you would probably bend it before you mushroomed the pin. Nickel pins and stainless washers...

Thanks Scott,
I want pins/washers that have a silver appearance and don't rust.
When I received my nickel silver variety I ordered from the bay, they looked like brass. I don't know if all nickel silver is created equal, but the pins I want don't have to be stainless. Can anyone point me in the right direction for silver coloured ns.

Thanks Butch,
TIG rod did cross my mind but wasn't totaly sure how suitable it would be.
I should be able to get some from my place of work for free, I know you can get .062" form various web sites.

Thanked: 182and you might be able to spin part of the rod down to size in a drill press (using like a lathe) so you would have a pin head on one side then only have ot peen the other
