    Default just recieved wood for my first scales projects





    These just came in the mail....hoping to do my first set of scales!

    Cool. I would love to make my own scales out of wood but I need to do a whole lot more learning before I even attempt. Good luck and keep posting some progress pics!

    FYI,some of these exotic woods can be quite toxic.Use a respirator when sanding or sawing to be safe.

    And a dust mask is not a respirator. They need to fit properly. Although if it comes to nothing or a dust mask I'd chose some kind of protection. Don't be surprised if your hands swell with a new wood either. (Wenge slivers are fun!)

    Thanks for sharing. I was wanting to build my own scales as well. May I ask what kind of wood did you order and from where? Any info you can pass on is appreciated.
