Default Info/opinions on restoring this razor

I bought this at a flea market today. It was marked at $25 but I got him down to $10 since it was almost time to pack up.

The scales are some synthetic. The blade is dirty but seems solid. The edge has a few small nicks but nothing that shouldn't work out with some patience.

What do you guys think? I'd love any info on it, too. I could find very little about the company or it's products. The current "ontario cutlery" claims to be quite old but they only make silly mall ninja machetes and faux military stuff.

    Now the photos:

I believe that Ontario razor was a product of the Geneva Cutlery Co. (some info here)

Looks like a nice grab at that price. Should clean up nicely and be a great shaver!

I'm handy but I don't know very much about straight razors yet. You think it's something I could tackle or would my lack of specific knowledge make me screw it up?

Just take some metal polish to it and go from there. There is a lot of information you can learn from in the wiki...that's where you should spend some time and decide for yourself. Metal polish and elbow grease will NOT hurt that razor, have fun with it!

Take your time and clean it up, then send it out to get honed. A very nice razor for the money!

    nice score.
Along with everyone else, hand polish and send it out.
    It should be a dandy.
