Thanked: 198wildest scale ideas
im in the process of designing a new set of scales that i feel are pretty off the wall, and i was wondering, what is the most unique and original set of scales others have done. i would love to see them, it might even help with another set i need to cook up. i do promise i wont copy the entire set, but i cant promise i wont incorperate part of an idea into mine, lolol.

There was a guy a couple of years ago made a pair out of human bone. I remember the thread but can't remember the artisan.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

That is seriously cool... creepy, but cool!
Unless you lost a limb, survived the amputaion and kept it, and cleaned it up, I can't imagine where you'd ever get human bone from nowadays...

Its a good way to be remembered by the grandkids though.
"Sorry little Jonny, Grandpa is gone, but heres a razor made from his arm..." I'm not sure I'd really want to use a razor if I'd known the person who "donated" towards it.
I would imagine making anything from human body parts would be illegal now, both from a health point of view and a disposing of remains point of view.
Cool though, and definately a good story!

Thanked: 1072I think this was the second set of scales I ever made. All done without power tools too, hacksaw, files and sandpaper. Total PITA to strop though, I'm actually planning to pull them off and make up something else when I get time.
