Default Bill's scales, once again :D

Guys, I have just received Bills gorgeous Curly Maple scales, along with a very nice 18 cen. W&B meatchopper.

Let me say this... Forget about plastic, stainless steel, abalone, stoned penis, plexiglass and other nonsence, if you need new scales for your favorite razor, go and PM Bill to do you a set of these AWESOME Curly Maple scales. Lemme say that again: AWESOME!

I feel dizzy staring in them wide-eyed for the last half an hour. The pattern is changing with every movement, and you can't realy see where the exact surface is. They are like those 3D holograms... Too bad you can't capture that on camera... I don't have the heart to drill a pin hole in them.

Check this thread to see them mounted on a blade. I knew I have seen them before...

Bill, thanx again, you are a true craftsman.

    Nenad,

I agree with you 100%. I love curly maple and
if I were to commission Bill to make me a razor
I would request curly maple scales.

Congratulations, they are most definately beautiful.

Glad you like them, Nenad. I really like how the pattern of the wood is animated, myself. It's one of my favorite materials to use on my knives. And you are right, it is impossible to capture on a camera.

Don't have any more of that material, though. That was the last set. At least for the full length of the scales. Won't have any more of it for a while. (Until I make it to another knife show)

I have some stuff that I need to send off to have stabilized, but don't know where I put the box. I know it's in storage somewhere..

Wow. I've never seen those before. Absolutely gorgeous. Bill, please let us know when you get more of these in stock. I've got a Rudolph Stehlo that needs new scales and this would be great for it.

Nenad did bill supply you with both the blade and the scales ? I've been sitting gawking at that maple for a while now -- reminds me of a lovely PRS Custom guitar ... I think I must check Bill's site just as everyone has bought him out - I've seen some scales i'd love . If I ever get my little ebay wedge to a shavable state I'm going to invest in some nice scales ( I loved the abalone/horn ones ) the scales are currently bone orignal from 1874 they're looking a little thin now ..

great work Bill !! and lovely scales Nenad ..

Yep, got them both, the scales and the blade. Beauties... I just don't want to slam a 2mm pin in them, Vlad put something in my head about cracking the scales without brass tube liners, and now I'm scratching my head...

Hey, having the flamed maple scales myself, I now know why the price is high on the premium flamed tops on the PRS's and LesPauls. Check this pup for a maple syrup:
