    Default Etchings vs Polishing compounds

Does the etching on the Dovo Best Quality get worn off if you use MAAS to polish out water spots ?

Also, just in case Walmart or Target doesn't carry MAAS, what other polishing compounds are recommended for razors ?

    Thanks.

MAAS wont remove etching but it will remove any goldwash. Its not abrasive, so actual marks/grooves in the metal will stay but anything applied over the top of the metal will come off.

I use Mother's Mag Polish. I like it even better than MAAS.

Eventually any polish will begin to get to the etching but
a gentle polish like MAAS or Simichrome Polish will get the
spots out. A little bit on a Q-tip will get most spots.

I happen to like the change in the etch with numerous
visits to a light polish like MAAS...
