    Default Fixing a Floppy Pivot

I know it's here somewhere. I have a clear memory of reading a wiki or sticky or icky about fixing a floppy, loose pivot...

...but maybe it's the march of senility or maybe it's been taken down, but could someone direct me to some suggestions for fixing a loose pivot on an otherwise very nice razor, i.e. I don't want to re-scale it, just snug up the pivot.

Many thanks, and I apologize for being so flaked out that I can't find this and so bother you with it!

You can either try to tighten the scales by tapping on the pins with a small hammer or if you don't feel comfortable with that you can wrap some sewing thread or dental floss arount the pivot pin, Snugs it up nice.

You will find the whole process in the workshop sticky or the Wiki under building scales...

I really advise for just tightening using a 4oz or less Ballpeen hammer
if you decide that the $5 you can buy them for on Amazon is frivolous or if yer in a hurry the back of a Tablespoon and many light taps will fix it too...

Just remember Tap tap tapitty tap, NOT Bang bang bang

+1 on using a spoon, I've done that and it works well. In terms of pressure (stealing a line from Glen! ), hit your fingernail like you're going to hit the pin and if it hurts, thats too hard.
