    Some green compounds have "other abrasives" in them & will scratch your blade to hell.
    Do you know what brand yours is & what's in it?

    If that green compound is CrOx, I've read this same thing elsewhere. What I read was that using any pressure with CrOx will lead to scratches on your finish.

    The scratches in the pictures are from the loose cotton wheel with the blue compound. Not from the green compound.

    get a new wheel it is cross contaminated when you get the new wheel and when your finished buffing cover the wheel with a bag to keep dirt and other contaminats off of the wheel
