So, I've not been around here for a long time now(too many other responsibilities) but I thought I would post this up as I decided to put together a quick set of scales for a temperite blade I had lying around.
The scales are made of laminated wood veneers (as most of my scales have been) as I have a huge bag full of various veneers, and it is a quick and easy way to put together scales with a minimal number of tools.

I have had the blade and the veneer for ages and never got around to doing it but this weekend gave me a couple of hours to give it a go.

My question to anyone who knows wood - what is this veneer?

I apologise for the poor pictures - I couldn't get the camera to focus properly and the colour is quite pale(it is much pinker than is shown).
