black horn scales
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to restore the "black"
back into the scales? I am not sure if the horn is dyed or they were black to begin with.
Thanks Glen

Thanked: 1Start sanding with 400 grit, then 600, then 1,000, and finally 1,500. If it's horn, you can throw it on a buffer with no problems. (if you have one) Use a mask when sanding. The generated dust is not particularly beneficial to your lungs.
No buffer? Then use felt wheels on a rotary tools with some polishing compound. I like Fabuluster.
Black is one of the natural colors. They will range from blonde to black. If they have green or red overtones, then they are dyed.
