    Default Naval Jelly?

Yes I know there are many jokes to be had with that title... I was in a hardware store and the gentleman suggested I use a product called Naval Jelly to remover the rust from my razors. I was a little worried because the blade is very thin. Have any of y'all ever used this product, or even heard of it?

Not recommended for razors. It contains and acid that will actually eat at the blades. This comes from personal experience. It's not worth it.

+1. Do a search on the forums and you'll find a few cautionary threads. Here's one:

I've used naval jelly on farm equipment. It's not as elegant of a solution as you might hope. Maybe someday someone's going to come up with a magic dip that will remove rust, polish a blade, remove hone wear, and produce an ultra sharp edge, but naval jelly will do more harm than good.

You know when I was in the navy we never used the stuff.

Probably the result you would get is similar to using caustic oven cleaner on aluminumn. It ain't pretty.
