    Default How about this?

This was in a box of my Dads old razors. It looks pretty old, can anybody tell me if its worth anything? Should it be restored? Thanks!

A very good shave and single edge blades are available at some of the drug stores and some Target stores.. All these old Gems and EverReadys are worth cleaning and using. Where else can you get a good razor for less than the price of the blades. Hold the head pretty close to flat against your face and lather often.

Soak it for a while in "Mr Clean" or similar ammoniated cleaner and use a good brass cleaner with a toothbrush. You should have a clean and useful addition to your rotation. You could use Maas if you have it for a finer polish after the Wright's Brass polish. I have cleaned and used almost all the early Gems and EverReadys. They are readily available in this neck of the woods. 1912, 1914, 1916, 1924 and the Feathers and Micromatics. They were made well into the '50s if some of my sources are correct.
