    Default where can I find different compound grit ?

    Hi,
    I am a biginner:

    http://straightrazorpalace.com/membe...a-bonjour.html

    I will start blades restoration and I find a "web" shop which have FORMAX compound (ALL grit 80 120 180 320 400 600) like suggest gssixgun (http://straightrazorpalace.com/works...lustrated.html) to polishing baldes.

    problem, I live in FRANCE
    I found midwayusa (gun store) but he don't ship item from USA to France because different statues laws about arms.

    Do you know store which ship these compounds to France except midwayusa, brownells, industrialtool.com ?

    Many thanks,

    Laurent;

    I can offer two links to sites in the UK which sell abrasives and polishing compounds as well as the necessary mops and wheels.

    The first site is The Polishing Shop Polishing Kits | Polishing Mops | Polishing Shop | Polishing Kit

    The second link is to ABC Polishing ABC Model Engineers,Motorcycles,Alloy,metal,polishing kits,supplies.

    I have purchased supplies from The Polishing Shop and can tell you that they were fast and friendly to deal with. Everything which I purchased from them was exactly as described and I was very pleased with their service.

    Laurent;

    I did a little bit more surfing and found a site in the UK that actually sells the Formax abrasives (if your heart is set on having their product range).

    The web site is Midway UK Midway UK-Reloading,shooting,gunsmithing,gun,air gun,optics,hunting,black powder,bullet,ammunition,brass,case,binoculars,sco pe,knife,boots,ATV equipment,tent,rifle,pistol,revolver

    And here is a link to their web page that lists the available abrasives Midwayuk - Abrasive Compounds

    I trust this will help you.

    Laurent;

    I'm sorry. That last link I listed for Midway UK will not work for you since they indicate on their ordering page that they do not ship orders outside of the UK.

    Nevertheless, the abrasives sold by the other two sites should work equally well for your purposes.

    If you want to search further, you can try one of the other Midway outlets located in Europe. My language is not so good, so I am leaving this to you, but here is a link to the web page which lists the other Midway dealers in various lands. Pick one and try it (Germany or Spain?): MidwayUSA - International Information: International Shopping & Contact Information

    Dear Ignatz,
    Many Thanks for helpful about shop !

    I will contact Polishing Shop and ABC Polishing stores (polishing shop seems to be a nice and interesting store).
    Concerning European Midway dealers, I know these websites but the price of Formax is very expensive in comparison with Midway USA !
    For example :
    Formax 3lb grit 80 USA : 9.49$
    Formax 3lb grit 80 UK : 27$ !!!

    I don't understand why, but ... it's like this.

    have a good day,
    thanks for helpful

    Laurent;

    True enough, the price for the Formax compound is cheaper in the USA and the price in the UK seems on the high side... even allowing for the fact that things are usually more expensive over on this side of the Atlantic ocean, but then America has always had artificially low prices (or do we have artificially high prices over here? ).

    I took a look at the prices in the Midway site in Spain and although they are still somewhat higher than in the USA they are definitely cheaper than in the UK. Look here if you like: midwayiberica Search Results

    Isn't the compound that Caswell sells the Formax brand stuff just rebranded with Caswell packaging?
