DD Wonderedge is now MINTY, NICE!!!!, L@@K :)
Now that the original warped scales are history the Dubl Duck Wonderedge is really MINTY, at least by my standards.
Scales are yellowheart with a very perlescent grain, decorated with brass from original scales and finished with Cyano Acrylate.
I etched my restoration mark so it will be recognized as one that I restored.
I think this is an improvement over the the way it was. I would like to know how you feel about these changes to a classic?
This one is also going to leave the nest. I will post a link to the e-bay auction which will have more pictures as soon as I list it.

Vlad,
Shame on you. Singlehandedly, you are becoming the reasons that prices on ebay are going up and up and up and up...
Beautiful job you have done there. I'll bet Tony's glad you aren't in the strop business!!!

Thank you RT, but I was off e-bay when the prices doubled in a few months. Now, if they double again in the next few months then I'll take the credit.
I hope it does not happen. I can hardly afford anything as it is. Did you see the 13/16 Puma MINT except for a few big fat rust spots go for $275 .
I listed this baby duck on e-bay here if anyone is interested.

Wow Vlad. Amazing work as always. You're putting some major pressure on me when my new babies arrive. I just can't see my work coming anywhere near yours. Now I'm tempted to take a roadtrip to Quebec just to see the workshop where you work your magic lol.

Seriously though ... a great achievement Vlad, as usual. Hope she bids up high for you.

You know you are stopping us posting pics of our pathetic jobs don't you.
My first attempt at scales looks like pre woodcraft 101.

Keep in mind that your results are only indicative of your current level of skill and experience and not a reflection on your potential in the art.
If you are starting out then you should not expect these results at least until you get to your fifth or sixths restoration project.Last edited by vladsch; 05-23-2006 at 06:10 AM.

beautiful job I see I need a lot more practice
I have a couple of questions if thats ok
the scales have a great finish from what you say you coat them in super glue and polish
How many coats of glue and what grit do you take them to before buffing
My other question is where do you get hold ofthe propper pins and washers
Kind regards peter
