Thanked: 67Veho on a Mac?
Does anyone use the Veho USB microscope on a Mac? The software that they provide is only for PC, but Usb cameras are very flexible when it comes to software. Often times Photoshop or other image programs can drive them.
I'm looking to use the Veho to check blade edges while honing, but I use a Mac.

I think you can find Mac drivers for it on the Veho homepage.
They state that the downloadable software drivers will work on 10.5 and 10.6
Veho - Downloads
Just make sure you select the right file. There is 2 of them, one for an older version and one for a newer hardware.
Read the PDF to find out which one you want.
I haven't tried it though, so I cannot guarantee that it works.Bjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Thanked: 30I just received my Veho. Unfortunately on a mac you only get the most basic of functions without the ability to adjust light and saturation, etc. Oh well I have an old laptop I might try it on.

Thanked: 30I downloaded them from Veho. The disc is a mini and it won't go in my iMac. It is ok but I was hoping for better reoslution. I have a feeling I am expecting too much for my money though. It is all relative. I am not spending $200 on a microscope though. I guess its ok for $60. I think thats what I paid it might have been less. It is definately easier to use a handhelp optical. I got this to take a snapshot image occasionally and other pics as well.

Thanked: 30I tried . I pushed it in and it went south a little and didn't catch so I used a peice of paper to guide it and it spit it out. I took that as a sign not to try it twice and downloaded from Veho.

Hi,
I have a vms-004 on Mac OS 10.6.4. Their microCapture softwares works fine on my mac. The scope also works with PhotoBooth to take snaps or movies too.
They include one of those mini discs that do not work in slot loading CD drives. I had to copy it from another computer to get it on my MacBook Pro.
