    What is your definition of a "blank" if you are just looking for a square piece of tool steel it is probably best to find a local metal/welding shop to try and get one. There was a knife shop selling unfinished SR "blanks" at one time that looked like they had been cut but probably not final ground or heat treated.

    I guess one that has been stamped into the rough shape, and possibly heat treated. Just something to start with... this will be my first attemp at shaping, scale making, etc. Just curious...
