Alder root
I don't know if I'm in the right forum now, if not feel free to put my thread in the right one.
I was wondering if anyone have used alder root to make scales for your razors? If you have, how did they end up and do you have pictures?
For you who doesn't know what alder root look like have a peek at this site.

Amazing looking material, but it appears they only have 12 cm lengths? That would be too short for most razor scales

I love that material too, they use to make furniture out of it. To bad they only have 12 cm stabs. Well, I just wanted to show what it looked like.

Quite expensive!! I think stabilized pen blanks would be a good choice, and they are about $5-8 a piece. There also places where you can have your own wood stabilized.

Hi Roger,
Try giving them a call about longer (maybe thin cut) slabs. I have had a bit of luck asking for items not listed on websites, though little experience with Brisa.

Brisa has also other beautiful material suitable for scales; unfortunately most of them are too small. I've tried to email for few times but never got a reply.
However if you gents are interested in those materials, i could call them as well and then tell what they think right here in SRP.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'
