Thread: I need some advice on these fancy pins

I bought these fancy pins and washers from ebay and when they arrived I realized I don't actually know how to put them together. I have a bit of an idea but I want to check with people who know more than me before I make a horrible mess.

I think I need to use the two smaller washers (on the right of my picture) to secure the pin in place. I'm thinking these perform the function of maintaining the tension between the scales.

Then I think I need to put the fancy washers over the top of the smaller functional washers and peen the pin over the top of these.

This seems logical to me, but one thing that concerns me is that the fancy washers would prevent the pin from being tightened in the future.

Has anyone used these before? Can anyone give me any pointers?
