    im running out of ideas for wood to use on scales, and cant seem to remember where it was mentioned on here before. does anyone have good companies to order from.

    just a hint:

    If you want bookend looking scales, (so that the grain matches on each side)
    Order the 1.5 x 6 blanks and cut them down

    for solid grain their 1/8 planed pieces were done just for us razor restorers

    Rockler also has some selection, a few different woods and you can buy by the piece or per square foot.
