Hey, everyone! On my first straight razor (Simmons Hardware Keen Kutter) and restoration I decided to go with the full package. Plenty of patina removal, some pitting, worn scales to get myself an idea of how everything works. I made new thin scales using beech wood, I thought it looked kinda nice plus I was able to get it right around the corner The problem I'm facing is the fact, that I have no idea, how to seal the wood. I would also appreciate a little feedback on the looks of the scales, I've been working on these for almost two days with only a saw and some sandpaper Also what spacer material do you guys recommend. I thought of going with the same wood of maybe a dark wood. It's a hollow ground, so should I be afraid of breaking the blade or anything while sanding?
