Thread: Newb Restore Quick Questions

So I'm looking to pick up my first project/restore blade. I found this one online and was wondering if this looked like something simple to start with? This is a good deal and was wondering if this is something I should get honed for the first time? I was thinking this would be a good starter blade.

I probably wouldn't do anything with it other than honing it, unless you are not attached to the goldwash on the blade.

So is there a way to buff out the scratches on the edge without losing too much of the goldwash? I have lots of reading to do on this forum....and little time
