    I'd try to cut the point off and have a shorter razor if I were you and I had the time to play around with it. It is a lot of work, though.

    I would agree with heirkb with regards to shortening the razor. Looks like you have an oblique point there, so you could make it into a round point or square without too much trouble I'd think. Though, personally, I'd not take the time. But I have PILES of razors to work through, so it's just a priority thing for me.

    Your problem is easily solved by shortening the blade. I cut off 1 inch from this Otto Deutsch and it shaves quite nicely. If you decide to cut the broken part off, do it carefully because the blade could very easily shatter right before your very eyes. Keep vibration to a minimum if you are going to grind it off.

    Notice that I also shortened the scales to match the new blade length.
