    Default Abalone suggestions?

Thanks to Dirtychrome, I've got it figured out how to straighten out my warped horn pieces, but anybody got an idea how to unwarp a piece of LVS abalone?

I haven't any experience with it but if it's laminated with acrylic it should be able to be shaped with heat but wait till someone who's used it replies. I'm only theorising.

If you're talking about the one with the black or colored backing, then there's not much you can do. I've had several of those warped ones. You can try with a blow dryer followed by laying it flat, leave some heavy weighted material overnight or use the vise. Tried them all with very little success. Some I managed but the warp came back. It's mostly the backing that induces the warping. It's never been an issue for me using any of it. You just have to make sure to cut out 2 scales with opposing warping so each side bows or warps to the outside.

Thanks for the advice Max. I'll see if I can't make it work out.
