A Job Well Done !
Back in December, I stated a thread on how I had made a mistake with my families razor. I had damaged it and it needed repair. I listened to the advice given by members here and reached out to the SRP community.
My families razor, handed down to me from the 1830's was given to Max, known on this forum as Maximilian, for repair. The razor was repaired far beyond my expectations. The photos below, show the work. My instructions to Max were to fix the edge nicks if possible and keep it as long as needed. Max made the repairs and had it back to me in 1 week.
The razor will be oiled and stored away for my grandchildren.
Thank you Max for being the professional that you are.

Beautiful job. Now I know who to send mine to when I inevitably chip one of mine.

Great Save!
Great Save! Good work!
Does anyone have a recommendation on long term storage? I know that I'd be shaving with it so I'm no help

Beautiful job, what a nice save.
You may not be keen on the idea, but possible if it were put to use, maybe when the kids are around, it will be that much special to whoever the future owner is. I imagine I'd have a warm feeling if I got a tool that dad, grandad, and/or other ancestory heads of household had used this same piece of history.
Even with use, it will last many more lifetimes serving its purpose.
Thanks for sharing it with usLast edited by dirtychrome; 03-15-2011 at 05:50 AM.

Great idea, dirtychrome. I will wait a few years though; just to learn the skill first.

Dirty Chrome
I agree full heartily! When Glen restored my Great Grandfather's W&B Near Wedge/ I allowed my son to be able to use it first! Good God was he in heaven! He couldn't believe that he was using his Great Great Grandfather's razor! My son is only 17 and he was using a razor that his ancestor hadn't used in about 80 years!! If it's taken care of, it should be in use 100 years from now! Now that's a 'Green' product!
However, if storage or display is it's destination, I truly hope that someone can provided a quality solution.
