Soap scum removal from scales.
I recently picked up a Case Red Imp wedge. The blade is OK, with some hone wear, but not bad at all. The scales are OK, but there appears to be soap scum on them, and I was wondering about the best way to remove it without damaging the scales, especially the stamped in logo, which probably leaves out sanding, etc. Thanks in advance.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.

Toothbrush and a non-whitening toothpaste always works for me.

I like water (between warm and hot). Add some dish soap if you need it, and scrub with whatever you have. An old toothbrush works well. Only thing to watch for with the hot water is that it doesn't get hot enough to damage the scales. Scales can probably handle water hotter than your hands can, so not a serious worry.

Thanked: 94Nevr-Dull wadding polish works great on cleaning celluloid and giving it a lustrous finish.
On stubborn stains I've used a cloth dipped in white vinegar to clean to very good effect, but you have to be careful not to get vinegar on the blade as vinegar will tarnish a blade in minutes.
