    Default Patina for Double Duck

I have a Double Duck with a heavy gray patina. Is this correct or should I buff the razor out to either a light patina or a shine?

    That is a personal choice...

However I will warn you that unless that is the DD wedge, they have some of the thinest grinds in the razor world, so be very very careful if you decide to buff or sand a DD..

    +1 on the above

Blue Magic or MAS metal polish should take should take care of most of the patina

Truth, I snapped a Satinedge that I was sanding. I wasn't being overly rough either...

Speaking of DD grind, this DD has chips in the edge which have to be taken out. Howard at perfect Edge recommends using a 325 on end to take out the chips and then use a 1200 to reestablish the bevel.

As far as the patina, in the past I've used a buffing wheel with rouge on my drill press. This works very well on the non-stainless steel blades.

If you were to go to youtube and search "gssixgun" you will find a vid on what is called breadknifing which is what Howard it talking about.. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WARNING, if you dull the razor and you can't get it back it is yer own fault I have not posted that vid on here for that reason as people use that the wrong way all to often...

DD are rather easy to hone though so you might not need the direct straight down approach but I go over that in the vid...

BTW I did invite you to the Denver meet up right??? the link is in my sig line

When people advice you not use buffing wheel on the DD that means they do know something. Now Again buffing wheels wont work very well on DD.
    have fun.

Actually, I didn't see anyone recommend against a buffing wheel, but thanks for the heads-up.
