    bishpick1,
I'm really sorry. But I can't understand what etching you are looking for.
I've seen two Wostenholm etchings with "Damascus", one on the frameback, another "Damascus Steel".

This is what we can still see on the blade. there is a lot more but I'm not adding it because I can't tell what it is and it just confuses things. The letter at the bottom may be an 8 instead of a B. My wife thinks it's part of a date like 18XX. Hope you can see why I'm so determined to try to save it. when I turn the blade in the light I can see so much more. It is without a doubt the most elaborate etch I've ever seen. My wife thinks she can also make out the words "Brass Hinge" at the right of the blade (I can't see it but her eyes are better than mine).

It's not going to be the original etch...so put what you want.

Unfortunately, I couldn't find such etching in the Wostenholm 1885 catalog.
