Thanked: 13245Most of the old Ivory scales I have popped have about 1/2 inch of fork between the pivot ends if you are measuring that way... they are not very flexed when done, but the scales are THIN really THIN..
They tend to have rather thin wedges and they used lead almost exclusively....

In another thread glen mentioned that pinning Popsicle sticks was
good practice before risking many hours or bucks on expensive
scales.
