    Default where to but high grit sand paper?

    hello guys. this is my first attempt to restore a razor and i keep reading about high value sand paper like over 200 all the way up to 2000 but i cant find anything higher than 240 at home depot. any one? advice?

    try an auto supply store. i got my sand paper up to 2000 grit from Auto Zone. i got the 3M wetordry sand paper. works great!

    +1 to auto stores , thats where I always buy my sandpaper, it might be hard to find 2000 in stock there all the time but they should carry it. Also eBay is a great source as well .

    My Wal Mart carries to 800.
    I get 1500 & 2000 from NAPA Auto parts.

    also, as shown in the hand sanding wiki page, not all sandpaper can be used on metals. i believe the 3M paper from auto supply stores is silicon carbide. so be sure to check the material of the paper you have already bought before using it on the razor blade.

    If you have an Ace, True Value, Do it Best, or other "real" hardware store they should have it in stock or easily be able to order some in for you. I get mine at my local Ace and True Value.

    my local walmart carries up to 2000 in the 3m product in the automotive body repair section.
