    Default Noob Scale sanding question

When sanding during the multi-coat CA finish process, is it best to back the sandpaper with a hard, flat surface or do most sand just holding the paper? I've been using a backer so the flat faces would be even, and no backer on the edges and chamfered sides.

I'm not sure that you are taking off enough material for it to make much of a difference, but I would be inclined to use a foam sponge or similar to spread the pressure out and keep things light.

I don't like to back my sandpaper. It can create a faceted surface.
