UK based suppliers?
Hey!
Can anyone recomend any suppliers of washers and rod in the UK? I can find plenty of international suppliers but I'm an awkward sort and would rather order as locally as possible. Im also interested in finding suppliers of materials for making scales with. Any suggestions or links to sites would be great thanks

Yes indeed, he has just exported some very nice and inexpensive camel bone to Saudi Arabia for me, which must surely be something of a first.
Here is a supplier I remember as being very good on abrasives and polishes, although I have never used their website, which doesn't seem to work properly at the moment.
Simbles
The following are lapidary suppliers, very good for silicon carbide and cerium oxide powders:
Manchester Minerals
John Boddy Timber in North Yorkshire are first-class for timber (of much greater variety that shown here) and tools. They only sell timber to personall callers, but you can pick out a small piece, priced as you choose.
Most aeromodelling shops have a display of brass and other small tubes, which telescope on inside the next. 1/16 rod and 5/64 tubing should do nicely for rivets and bushes.
