    Default very early W&B

following pic of a very early W&B wedge(note the marking on the shank , crown over VR,I`m not 100% sure but I believe early 1800 S,correct me if I`m wrong ) it was all pitted very badly so I re-ground it to get nearly all the pitting out ,however on the reverse side there is still a couple of very small marks ,however I didn`t want to grind any more away for fear of drastically altering the shape of the wedge and the weight and feel of the blade
I`m going to shoe this one with the MOP scales I`m working on have taken a couple of picks and made a mock up of the finished article
The blade has been rubbed too 2000 grit but still has to be buffed
    Kind regards Peter

Nice work so far on the blade. If the scales come out like the mockup, you'll have a real beauty! What are you planning on using for the spacers? I've found both abalone and nickel silver (or sterling silver if you want to spend a few more dollars).

I love those old blades like that and it's a good feeling to bring them back to life. Be sure to post the rest when you've got her finished up. I think it's going to be a DANDY!

The letter V stands for Queen Victoria and the R for Royalty. The sign of this Monarch dates the razor between 1837 - 1901. Now the razor looks fit for a King!

Close. The VR stands for Victoria Regina. Regina == Latin for Queen.

In the case of a King, the R stands for Rex, which is Latin for King.

Which makes it technically correct as both Rex and Regina are royalty
