    So... I have to ask...

    How 'bout a month long soak in Neets?

    ... and even after that how in the world would you ever pin 'em tight enough to hold the blade up for a picture?

    Seems like a rescale is the only obvious choice - unless nostagia is the goal.

    The blade won't stand up at present, and as I plan to ditch the scales anyway then I'm not bothered about tightening it all up.

    Off to read up on scale making now

    Speaking of modern leather impregnation techniques: I once played with a custom folding knife with stabilized armadillo scales. It was actually kinda cool. Very hard with that armadillo pattern. I wouldn't have guessed it was a leather.
