Default To Rescale or Not to Rescale a DD Wonderedge??

    Hey Guys,

So I just got a really nice condition DD wonderedge off ebay. The scales are in very nice condition, no cracks or anything EXCEPT the blade does not center correctly between them...I have to push it towards the center when closing the blade or it will hit one of the scales.

So...my debate is...should i just get it over with knowing that these scales are going to go eventually and I don't want to risk damaging the blade when closing it.

Do you guys have any suggestions of what scales would look nice with a WE? I really like what gssixgun did with this one

and I think Max's G10 Blue/Black scales look freakin sweet, but don't know if they'd look weird with a WE??

What do you guys think? I'd love some suggestions/ideas!

scales appear to be straight. blade doesn't feel too lose when opening but might have some sway side to side. i don't remember feeling anything drastic though

it is possible the pin it not straight and that causes the problem with centering.

is that fixable? or is there a good chance that the scales will not make it through the process intact?

    Pics would be good here...
The last thing you want to do is a re-scale unless it is the only option...

If original scales are in good condition I would never rescale. Maybe it is just a personal thing. If the scales are just slightly warped that can be fixed. It may just need to be re-pinned is all.

Default pictures of the offcenter WE

ok guys i took some pictures and i think i was able to get some with angles that illustrate the problem well. i checked the condition again and there are some scratches on the face of the blade, the pivot is pretty tight and smooth though and there is a warp/bend in the right scale. let me know what you think or if i should get more pictures of anything. i'd hate to have to rescale this one considering I really like the way they look with their original scales so i hope it can be helped
