Default Marshes & Shepherd / Ivory Restore to Original

A nasty pivot area and some dark black spider vein pitting prompted the owner to send it to me for restoration..

I will admit I was hesitant, as I had to un-pin fragile Ivory, and I was worried that the stamps would be compromised..

that said, I took my sweet dear time, unpinned by first flattening the peen with a dremel and then drilling it out with a fresh bit very slowly. I ended up drilling it so perfectly I had a tube of brass holding it together

After finally disassembling, I took my time and did all the greaseless work at 400 grit, preventing any deep scratches, for fear of ending up having to remove too much metal and lose the stamps. Scales got some 600 and 1500 grit sandpaper, and i sleeved the new pivot pin, used brass to match up to the original wedge pin which I left original.
